This Escherichia coli bacteriophage M13 derivative can be used to introduce supF gene and thus trigger production of proteins whose encoding sequences contain TAG codons in corresponding host cells.

This vector is a derivative of bacteriophage M13 that encodes gene for suppressor tRNA (supF).

When packaged in the phage capsid, this vector can be introduced into F+ or Hfr Escherichia coli cells via conventional infection process. The infection does not kill cells nor it causes their lysis. Yet, it triggers production of proteins whose coding sequences were modified to carry TAG stop codon.

The vector is supplied in 1 ml aliquots of storage buffer containing 40% glycerol and 1013 particles.
